Young Canadians in Finance cordially invite you to a breakfast event with Mr. Louis Morisset, President and CEO of the Québec Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).

Prior to his appointment as President and CEO on July 2, 2013, Mr. Morisset held the position of Superintendent, Securities Markets since joining the AMF in May 2006. Mr Morisset actively participates in the initiatives to co-ordinate and harmonize regulations undertaken by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), which is the council of the securities regulators of the country’s provinces and territories, and he is instrumental in developing CSA regulatory policies. As well, Louis Morisset represents the CSA on the Accounting Standards Oversight Council (AcSOC).

On the international scene, Mr. Morisset represents the AMF at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and contributed significantly to initiatives of this organization over recent years.

Mr. Morisset is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations (IGPPO), of Finance Montréal, of the Montreal Institute of Structured Finance and Derivatives and of the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés.

Prior to joining the AMF, Me Morisset was a partner at the law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP. In addition to gaining extensive experience in securities law and corporate finance, he regularly advised on public and private merger and acquisition transactions in Canada, the United States and Europe. Me Morisset holds a law degree from the University of Montréal and was called to the Bar of the Province of Québec in 1996.
