On Wednesday June 18th, the Canadian Women’s Club are delighted to have Dr. Christian Lloyd join us to share his research on Jimi Hendrix’s life in London.

Dr. Christian Lloyd is the Academic Director for the Bader International Study Centre (BISC) at Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex, UK. BISC is an international study program operated by Queen's University (Canada).

The Handel House museum in London has recently begun development of the Jimi Hendrix museum in this rock legend’s former Mayfair flat, where he lived in 1968-69. Dr. Lloyd has been commissioned to write a book with Dr. Sheila Whiteley on Hendrix’s London life for the museum and is interviewing several of the star’s closest friends and associates as part of this exciting project. Using this research, his talk will paint a picture of life in the Hendrix home as well as talk about the music scene in London in the late sixties.

We hope you will be able to join us.
